What's new
Incremental payment authorizations now cover RFID and Autocharge (VID) sessions paid by credit card. App-initiated credit card sessions already have this feature live; it now extends to sessions started with an RFID tag or triggered automatically via Autocharge.
Instead of placing a large upfront hold on a driver's card, the system reserves a smaller initial amount and adjusts the authorization as the session progresses:
- Reservations track the real cost. The initial hold stays low and only increases as kWh accumulate and the charge price approaches the reserved amount. No more over-holding funds that aren't yet needed.
- Failed attempts release immediately. If a session fails to start, any unused reservation is cancelled automatically instead of sitting on the card for days.
What this means for you
The feature activates automatically for RFID and Autocharge sessions where the card issuer supports incremental authorization. Drivers see fewer oversized holds when charging.
