What's changing
Card payments for subscriptions on Teams on pay-as-you-go has gone live a while ago, excempt where Personal & Private Default Teams. This changes now: Subscriptions on personal teams and private default teams will be paid with a default payment card (instead of wallet balance). Each driver sets one card as the default, and that card will be charged for their subscription from then on. Wallet balance will no longer cover subscription payments for those Teams if they are on pay-as-you-go.
Release ETA: 04.09.26
Why it matters
Paying a recurring subscription from a wallet balance means a renewal can fail or eats into a hard-to-settle negative wallet balance, even when the driver has a working card on file. Billing a card the driver picked makes renewals predictable and ensures a healthy cash-flow.
Who it's relevant for
Drivers on personal teams and private default teams whose payment method is pay-as-you-go. Private teams paying by operator transaction or invoicing are not affected.
What happens (inform your customers):
At the next renewal the subscription will move to unpaid, and the driver will get an email asking them to add or update their payment card. Once a valid card is set as the default, the subscription will be billed to that card and all is back to normal.
Where to find it
In the app, the payment methods screen shows which card pays for subscriptions, and that is also where a driver adds or changes it. (The default card is per app, so a driver's default in the Monta app and in a white-label app are separate.)
