What's new

Monta Hub now shows Charging Stations: every EVSE that reaches Monta over a single connection, grouped together. A Charging Station is a communication endpoint — one OCPP link, one identity reported by the integration, one target for a firmware update. An EVSE, the entry Hub already shows you, is the part that serves one vehicle at a time.

A two-socket unit that speaks to Monta over one OCPP connection used to appear as two unrelated entries. It now appears as one station holding two EVSEs.

This describes how your EVSEs are connected, not how they are installed. One station is usually one piece of hardware — but two separate units sharing a connection are one station, and one cabinet using two connections is two stations.

Generated, not entered

Monta reads the identifier your EVSE already reports through its integration — its OCPP identity, or the records your roaming partners publish over OCPI and Hubject — and groups the EVSEs that share it. New EVSEs get a station on first contact, connection state and firmware stay in step with the integration, and a station left holding no EVSEs is cleaned up on its own. There is no “add a station” button and nothing to keep tidy.

Why it matters

Manufacturer datasheets, installer reports and roaming partners' CDRs all use “charge point” and “station” to mean slightly different things, so every ticket and rollout plan starts with a translation step. Hub already names the socket-level entry an EVSE, the way the industry does; Charging Stations complete the picture by naming the connection above it:

  • Charging station / charge point — the unit that holds the connection → Charging Station (new; one per connection to Monta)
  • EVSE / socket / outlet — what serves one vehicle at a time → EVSE (already aligned; now grouped under its station)
  • Connector — the cable or plug type → Connector (already aligned)

What it gives you

  • A searchable station list, filtered by team, site or operator.
  • Per station: connection state, installed firmware, any upgrade waiting for it, and the sites its EVSEs stand on.
  • Charge activity per station — sessions, energy delivered, successful sessions — over any date range.
  • Station filters on EVSEs and charges, so “everything that happened behind this connection” is one filter.
  • Firmware planned per station, so one connection receives one upgrade instead of one per EVSE.

Your EVSEs, sites, price groups, subscriptions and API integrations are untouched — no migration, and no change to how sessions are authorised, recorded or billed.

Where to look

Open Monta Hub and you will find Charging Stations in your network, already populated. Start with a site you know well and compare it against how those EVSEs are wired up. If a station groups your EVSEs differently from how you expect them to connect, tell us — that mismatch is exactly what this view is built to surface.
