What's new

You now have more control over where a team wallet can be used for charging. You can decide which countries and which charge point operators are allowed, and Monta checks those rules every time a charge starts on the team wallet.

  • Countries: allow charging in all countries, or only in the countries you select. The country list is searchable, and all countries are allowed until you choose otherwise.

  • Charge point operators: allow charging at all charge point operators, or only at the ones you select.

You can set these rules at four levels:

  • Operator team settings: the rules every team under your operator starts from. You find them in a new wallet restrictions step when you create or edit operator team settings.

  • Member groups: rules for everyone in a member group.

  • Members: rules for an individual team member.

  • Charge keys: rules for a single charge key, or the charge key can follow the rules of the member who owns it.

On member groups and members, these restrictions replace the previous payment permission settings.

Why it matters

Fleet managers get tighter cost control. Limiting where a team wallet can be used prevents expensive charging at networks or in countries you did not plan for, and avoids the support questions that follow when drivers are surprised by a bill.

How rules combine

Each level can narrow what the level above allows, but never widen it:

  • Countries and charge point operators that operator team settings do not allow are shown as unavailable on member groups, members and charge keys, and Select all skips them.

  • If both levels list specific countries or specific charge point operators, only the ones on both lists are allowed.

  • If a member group rule conflicts with operator team settings, the more restrictive setting applies.

Where the rules apply

The rules are checked whenever a charge is paid with the team wallet, however it starts:

  • from the app

  • with an RFID card or charge key

  • through roaming, both over OCPI and through Hubject

Good to know

  • Charge keys that had network restrictions from the older settings (operator, Monta network or roaming network) keep them, and Hub shows them on the charge key. When you set a charge key to follow its owner's rules, those older restrictions are cleared, so what you see in Hub is what applies.

  • If you do not set any rules, nothing changes: the team wallet can be used in all countries and at all charge point operators.

Who it's for

Operators and team admins who pay for their drivers' charging through a team wallet and want to control where that money is spent.

Where to find it

In Monta Hub, in operator team settings, and in the settings of member groups, members and charge keys in a team.
