What's new
Home charging reimbursement in Norway now supports Strømstøtte, the Norwegian government electricity support scheme. When it is switched on, Monta deducts the subsidy from the home charging cost, so the employer reimburses only the net electricity price the employee actually paid. The subsidy is shown as its own line in the reimbursement breakdown.
Strømstøtte covers 90% of the spot price above 0.75 NOK/kWh, before 25% VAT. It applies to the spot price only, not to extra costs such as supplier markup or grid rent, and only to charging at a primary residence.
How it works
Drivers, in the Monta Charge app
When you request home reimbursement for a charge point in Norway and choose spot pricing, there is an extra Strømstøtte step with a toggle. With a fixed price, the step is skipped.
The app shows the price zone (NO1 to NO5) for your charge point, taken from its location, so the right spot price is used.
The cost breakdown preview shows whether Strømstøtte is Applied or Not applied.
You can change the setting later in your electricity costs in Insights. The Strømstøtte section only appears for Norwegian charge points with spot pricing.
Employers and fleet managers, in Monta Hub
Review and approve a driver's electricity costs, including the price zone and subsidy, before reimbursing.
Cost groups with the subsidy switched on show + Strømstøtte in their price description, for example spot pricing (incl. VAT) + Strømstøtte + an additional cost.
On the charge session page, the price breakdown lists the spot price, markups and subsidy. The subsidy line keeps its amount when you switch the view to Without VAT.
Why it matters
Norwegian households choose between subsidy schemes that change what they really pay. Employers need documentation that reflects the net cost, so they do not overpay, and drivers get a clear view of how their reimbursement was calculated.
Who it's for
