What's new
Part 2 of our Monta Charge app improvements is about knowing what you are looking at and what you will pay, before you start a charge.
Correct operator names. Some operators reached through roaming used to show up with the wrong name, for example the name of the system that sends the prices instead of the operator. The app now shows the operator's name.
Industry-standard site naming. Charging sites now follow one order: operator name, then street address, then EVSE-ID. This matches what drivers see in other charging apps and gives operators better brand visibility.
Monta's handling fee shown with the price. Price information on the charge point screen and on the Site details tab now says that prices are calculated from tariff information provided by the operator, and that a Monta handling fee is included, with the percentage. Additional fees that apply at a site are described in an information box on the site view.
Chargers grouped by speed, connector type and price. The charger list at a site is split into sections instead of one long list sorted by availability and name.
How the charger sections work
Chargers are grouped first by charging speed in kW.
Within the same speed, chargers are split by connector type. A 300 kW CCS charger and a 300 kW CHAdeMO charger are shown in separate sections.
Within the same speed and connector type, chargers are split by price, so different price tiers get their own section.
Chargers that share an EVSE-ID but have different connectors are still shown in separate sections, because only one of them can be used at a time.
Why it matters
Drivers choose a charger under time pressure. Seeing the operator, the full price and the speed up front means fewer surprises at the charger. For operators, the correct name keeps their brand visible and lets drivers recognise their network.
Who it's for
Drivers who use the Monta Charge app to find a charger, and operators whose chargers are shown in the app, including through roaming.
Where to find it
Open a site from the map in the Monta Charge app. The site name, the fee information and the grouped chargers are all in the site view. The handling fee text is also in the price information on the charge point screen.
Availability
Live in the Monta Charge app.
