We've released the Monta CLI, a command-line tool that puts every Monta API endpoint at your developers' fingertips. Install it with npm install -g @monta-api/cli and run commands like monta charge-points list or monta charges create straight from a terminal, with no REST client to build first.

What's New

The CLI is generated from the live API specification, so the available commands always match the current API. Your technical teams can switch between production and staging with named profiles, and choose the output that fits the job.

  • Every endpoint as a command – the full API surface, available from the terminal.
  • Always in sync – commands are generated from the live OpenAPI spec, so they never drift from the API.
  • Output that fits the task – readable tables for quick checks, plus raw JSON and CSV for scripting and piping into tools like jq.
  • Multi-profile auth – keep separate production and staging credentials and switch with a single flag.

Why It Matters

Setting up fleet and reimbursement structures, bulk-updating pricing, or auditing charge points used to mean writing and maintaining a custom API integration first. The CLI removes that step, so your teams can run one-off and repeat jobs in minutes instead of building tooling for them.

The CLI is one of three ways to work with the same API. The MCP server handles natural-language workflows, the REST API covers high-volume and deterministic integrations, and the CLI gives your teams a fast, scriptable surface in between. Your developers can pick whichever fits the task.

How to Use

  • Install from npm: npm install -g @monta-api/cli (or run ad hoc with npx @monta-api/cli ...)
  • Authenticate with your Monta API credentials, then run monta --help to see every command.
