Update (2026-07-28): The toolkit now uses the Amazon Root CA 1 certificate root, the same root used by Monta production. The certificate details in the connection section below have been updated to reflect this.

The Monta OCPP Toolkit is our internal test tool, offered as-is with limited support to all interested parties — both Monta customers and others.

What's New

The OCPP Toolkit has been rebuilt and the new version is live, replacing the previous toolkit at the same address: https://ocpp-toolkit.monta.app/

This release introduces:

  • A redesigned, easier-to-use interface
  • Simpler command execution
  • An improved log view for clearer diagnostics
  • Monta AI built directly into the toolkit (available when logged in)
  • Experimental support for OCPP 2.0.1 (alongside OCPP 1.6)

Why It Matters

OCPP integration testing and debugging is faster and clearer. The new log view and command execution make it easier to see what a charging station is doing, Monta AI helps interpret results, and experimental OCPP 2.0.1 support lets teams start validating next-generation hardware.

Availability

The toolkit is publicly available — no login required. Logging in to Monta unlocks Monta AI and the in-product feedback form.

Important — connection changes to be aware of

A couple of things have changed for connecting charging stations:

  • The OCPP WebSocket URL has changed and now includes a path. Point charging stations at wss://ocpp-toolkit.monta.app/ocpp/<your-charging-station-id> rather than the bare host.
  • The certificate root is Amazon Root CA 1, the same root used by the Monta production environment. Charging stations connecting to the toolkit must trust the Amazon Root CA 1 root, available at https://www.amazontrust.com/repository/.

Coming Soon

We're already working on:

  • Automated testing
  • Testing against known Monta brand configurations

Feedback & Support

When you're logged in to Monta, a feedback button is available directly in the toolkit — we'd like to hear what works and what's missing.
