What's new

Energy management now runs inside the Hub, next to the rest of your network. You no longer need the separate Energy Portal (energy.monta.app).

  • Locations have an Overview tab with energy prices, a card per node showing its load against its limits, and a row per EVSE with live power, state of charge and the charge intent in use.

  • Setup has a sub-tab for each part of the location: General, Nodes, EVSEs, Meters, Solar panels, Charge intents and Change log. Turn energy management on or off with the Energy management switch in General → Status.

  • Topology shows the electrical tree. Add, move and remove nodes, EVSEs and external meters there, including Shelly and Monta MQTT meters.

  • EVSEs can be edited, moved or removed in bulk, across pages.

  • Charge intents for RFID keys, users, accounts, vehicles and EVSEs are managed in one table. Set one schedule on many intents at once, use one plan for every day, and export or import schedules as a file.

  • Details has live meter, charge and residual load values, plus meter value history, charges, logs and EVSE state history, with CSV export.

  • Moved locations: if a location came from an old load balancing group, the Hub shows any differences when you activate it, and you choose to resync or keep your setup. No support ticket needed.

  • Home energy features lets you set up and support customers' homes: EVSEs, measurement devices, solar, fuse and peak protection, and a live power flow.

Why it matters

You set up, run and explain energy management in the same tool as the rest of your network. You can see what a location draws right now, and the history and change log show why it behaved the way it did.

Who it's relevant for

Operators who run load balancing, solar or dynamic power limits on their locations, and operators who support home charging customers.

How to use it

  1. Go to CPO / Network → Energy management and open a location.

  2. In Setup, add your nodes and attach the EVSEs and meters that belong to the location.

  3. Set the grid connection type, the electricity price area and the limits of each node.

  4. Add charge intents where charging should behave differently, then turn on Energy management in Setup → General → Status.

  5. Watch the Overview tab to confirm the location draws what you expect.
