Payment card required for new subscriptions on Pay As You Go teams

Starting today, a payment card is required when applying new subscriptions to teams, or charge points in Teams with Pay As You Go billing.

When applying a new subscription:

• If the team has a card, the subscriptions activate immediately
• If the team doesn’t have a card, the subscriptions stay paused until a card is added

Existing subscriptions also default to payment via card:

• Teams that already have a payment card are charged for existing subscriptions via the card.
• Teams without a card still pay for existing subscriptions via the team wallet.

Note: This change does not apply to teams using Operator Transactions or invoicing, or that have subscriptions with a monthly price of 0.

Why This Matters

This is part of a broader change to how subscriptions are billed. Starting from 18.05.2026, a payment card will become mandatory for “Pay as you go” teams with active subscriptions. After this, teams without a payment card are at risk of being frozen. Read more about these changes in this post.
