What's new

Many operators use sub-operators to organise their business internally, for example one per department, region or cost centre. Until now, drivers saw each sub-operator's own name, so your internal structure showed up in the app. You can now give drivers one consistent name instead.

Enter a Public display name under Operator settings → General → Company details. Drivers then see that name in the Monta app wherever your operator is named: on charging stations and sites, in pricing and "operated by" details, on in-app charging receipts, on subscriptions and with promotion codes.

The Public display name field in Company details under Operator settings

Set it once for every sub-operator. Add the public display name on your parent operator, and every sub-operator without a name of its own shows it to drivers automatically. A sub-operator can still set its own name if it needs to. Inside Monta Hub nothing changes: you and your team keep seeing the real sub-operator names, so internal reporting stays as it is. Your legal company details on receipts are also unchanged.

How to turn it on

This feature is in early access. Go to Admin → Release channel in Monta Hub and turn on Public display name for drivers for your parent operator. That one switch covers all of its sub-operators. Then set the name in Company details.

Good to know

  • Search results in the app pick up the new name the next time a charging station is updated, so it can take a little while to appear everywhere.
  • Map pins, emails, push notifications and the wallet receipt PDF still show the operator name for now. We will bring the public display name to these next.
  • Leave the field empty to keep showing your operator name.

Why it matters

Drivers should see the brand they know, not how you organise your company behind the scenes. One name across all your sub-operators makes your charging network feel like one network.

Who it's relevant for

Operators that run several sub-operators, such as departments, regions or franchises, under one brand.
