What's New

We're introducing grace periods for idle and per-minute fees on your roaming price groups. When you set an idle fee or a fee per minute for roaming, you'll be able to define how many minutes should pass before that fee starts to apply.

Monta will share these grace periods with your roaming (eMSP) partners over OCPI and apply them consistently in the resulting charge records.

Why It Matters

Today, idle and per-minute fees on roaming sessions apply immediately, with no grace period. That leaves CPOs with two poor options: switch these fees off for roaming drivers, or apply them with no buffer at all.

The result is an uneven experience between roaming drivers and your local app users. With grace periods shared over OCPI, roaming drivers are treated on the same terms as everyone else, helping keep your charge points available and your pricing fair across every driver, regardless of their eMSP.

Roaming drives a large and growing share of public charging sessions, so treating those drivers consistently has a real impact on availability and revenue.

How to Use

When this is available, you'll create or edit a roaming price group in Charge pricing, switch on Fee per minute and/or Idle fee, and set how many minutes should pass before each fee applies.
